"The true virtue of human beings is fitness to live together as equals; claiming nothing for themselves but what they as freely concede to everyone else..." John Stuart Mill (pg 96)
As we look at the role of women, men and there families in fighting for or against the women's suffrage movement. Through the family tab the connection of leaders and advocates better connects people and their families. For the women we look at the ones that stood out to us and the actions they took. Some were needed to help move the research forward.
We take a look at the connections between leaders as well as activists and the reasons women joined in the movement. As well as the social classes of these women and how they got involved. For a women in a higher social class it was easier to get involved in the movement due to higher education meaning higher literacy. For women in the lower classes the involvement stood out later as they were the small demographic within the movement but a large part in society.
We also look at how each event connects to another event or person. The connection intermingles between generations as well as new and different leaders. Connecting the women to the laws and acts as well as women in the art and the stance they took.
All around we found that the women section of this project was important to connect the project as a whole and explain it to the average viewer.
